We are the community aspect of Freelancers Union. Spark is an opportunity for freelancers and independent workers to come together to connect with one another and help cultivate a strong freelancer community in the Atlanta area. We are independents united to build a network for referrals, support, learning, and fun. SPARK groups are currently in 20+ cities.
We connect our community through meetings, workshops, and social events; and via social media through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. We are run by freelancers, for freelancers. Read more on the about us page.
Freelancers Union is the largest and fast-growing organization representing the 57 million independent workers across the country. We give our 375,000+ members a powerful voice through policy advocacy, benefits, and community. Membership is free and open to freelancers of all kinds, from graphic designers to contractors to entrepreneurs to moonlighters.
We keep our meetings fun and interactive. SPARK events are always free to the public. We try to provide complimentary drinks and food at our monthly meetings for members to enjoy.
Keep in mind, there may be paid parking around an event. Using DART or LYFT is a great solution to this. Some of our social events may take place at restaurants and other places with food and drinks for purchase.
They take place on the first Wednesday of every month. In addition to our monthly meetings, we often hold workshops and other social events. You can stay tuned in to our latest events via social media and signing up for our newsletter.
The best way to learn about SPARK is to come to a meeting or event. By talking to other freelancers and building important connections, you will realize that Spark is a one-of-a-kind group that is here to support you. Yes. There are several ways to promote yourself through the Spark network. Socializing during our networking hour at the monthly meetings is a great way to build freelancer-to-freelancer connections. You can also sign up for a skills demonstration at one of our workshops (coming soon!). Sponsors also get a chance to address our members during meetings to promote skills and services. No. Spark is for everyone. While we are aimed at the freelance community, we also welcome independent artists, side hustlers, entrepreneurs and solopreneurs, and those just interested in learning about freelancing.
